Julie and Moe were excellent and professional MC's. Dina read a statement about Black History Month from Prime Minister Stephan Harper. Mrs. Bacon's class beautifully sang, "We're Different". Rebecca articulately read a brief history of Africville, a historically significant Nova Scotian town with African-Canadian roots. Tariq eloquently read a poem about Africville to complement Rebecca's brief history.
To conclude our assembly, we did an augmented reality presentation using the APP "Aurasma", to present brief Bios on significant African-Canadians, including our very own Mrs. Laforet, who is our school board's first African-Canadian, female administrator.
All in all, 6/7M did a magnificent job preparing for and hosting our assembly. Great job guys!
